Kibbles and Kayaks

"So we beat on, boats against the current, borne back ceaselessly into the past."

Living in Texas, I've grown accustomed to and made my peace with one hundred days of triple digit temperatures each summer, because I patiently yet expectantly wait for the first cool-front of fall. That cool-front has not quite arrived. However, we were blessed this weekend with a proxy of sorts between the villainous heat and crisp, cool mornings; the average temperature this weekend was a pleasant 70 degrees.

Capitalizing on the weather, I resolved to spend the majority of the day outside. After an eight mile run to Market Street with Woodlands Fit and my leisurely cup of Caffe Verona from Starbucks with our friends Bethany and Tyler, Amanda drove up to Town Greene Park with Lucy for some kayaking out on Lake Woodlands!

Lucy could hardly contain her excitement. One of the primary reasons Lucy and I get along so well is due to the fact that she displays a sense of temerity that directly translates into a gallant adventurousness.
